We have a brilliant new part-time opportunity, within a well-established retail business based in Northampton, known for their strong brand presence and loyal customer base. The company is undergoing a huge growth journey, and they are seeking a capable and hands-on Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a part-time basis for an initial 6-month contract.
The Role:
Reporting to the Accounts Manager, this is a varied, all-round accounts role that would suit someone confident managing day-to-day finance operations in-house. You’ll be working closely with the Manager to ensure the smooth running of all transactional finance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily processing of purchase invoices and managing supplier payments
* Raising and issuing sales invoices, and credit control
* Bank reconciliations and cashbook management
* Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
* Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal teams regarding finance queries
* Supporting ad hoc finance tasks as needed
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar accounts assistant or finance role
* Solid understanding of AP, AR, and general bookkeeping tasks
* Proficient in using Xero (preferred)
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Able to work independently and manage time effectively
* Comfortable working in a small, hands-on finance environment
