Maintenance Technician – Mechanical Bias
Location: Skelmersdale (On-Site Role)
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 07:50–16:45; Friday, 07:50–12:10
Salary: Up to £38k

Scope:
Are you an experienced mechanical technician looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and innovative manufacturing environment? Join us at our Skelmersdale production site as a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias) and play a key role in supporting and enhancing plant performance, equipment reliability, and process efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Improve overall reliability and performance of equipment, systems, and processes
* Provide technical support to production lines to minimize defects and optimize output
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
* Track, report, and act on process improvement data
* Conduct in-line quality checks and maintain product integrity
* Analyse data to diagnose faults and implement long-term solutions
* Follow Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods for process monitoring
* Uphold Health & Safety standards and contribute to a safety-first culture
* Support and mentor team members with technical training and guidance
* Foster strong relationships with internal teams and share best practices
About You:
* OND or apprentice-trained in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a technical production support or maintenance role
* Proficiency in workshop skills: turning, milling, welding
* Fault-finding experience in mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Familiarity with high-pressure air systems (desirable)
* Willingness to work shifts if required on occasion
