YOUR ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Information Architect to design, govern, and optimize enterprise data architecture across cloud‑based platforms. The role is responsible for defining data models, standards, and governance practices that ensure structured, scalable, secure, and compliant data flows across the organisation. The Information Architect partners with engineering, product, operations, and regulatory teams to align technical data solutions with business strategies, ensuring that the enterprise maximizes the value of its data assets.
YOUR PROFILE
* Define and evolve the enterprise information architecture, aligning data capabilities with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and technology roadmaps.
* Establish data modelling standards, patterns, and reference architectures (conceptual, logical, physical) across domains and systems.
* Provide architectural direction for structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data solutions.
* Design and govern AWS-based data pipelines, ensuring compliance, scalability, and robustness across ingestion, processing, and consumption layers.
* Drive architectural decisions related to S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and serverless/data warehouse environments.
* Ensure models, schemas, and transformations across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers follow best practices and support downstream analytics, reporting, and regulatory needs.
* Collaborate closely with data engineers to implement ETL/ELT workflows using AWS native services and tools such as dbt.
* Govern the modelling layers and define transformation standards to maintain data quality, reliability, and consistency.
* Ensure strong data governance, including metadata management, lineage tracking, stewardship models, and architectural guardrails.
* Implement frameworks that ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance—supporting regulatory submissions, audits, and operational controls.
* Promote best practices for data transparency, discoverability, and documentation.
* Optimize pipeline orchestration and scheduling using Airflow and similar workflow management tools.
* Lead architectural planning for data migrations, ensuring performance optimization, resilience, and minimal business disruption.
* Assess and enhance data platform performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
* Partner with business stakeholders, data SMEs, analytics teams, and regulatory bodies to interpret data needs and ensure architectural alignment.
* Provide architectural consultation for new business initiatives, system integrations, and advanced analytics use cases.
* Act as a trusted advisor for data-related decisions, policies, and technology adoption.
* Maintain enterprise‑wide information standards, taxonomies, and ontologies.
* Ensure logical organisation of data assets and promote consistent naming, definitions, and classification practices.
* Guide master data, reference data, and domain modelling initiatives.
* Participate in architecture review boards and contribute to enterprise architecture governance.
* Deep expertise in data architecture and modelling (conceptual, logical, physical).
* Strong hands‑on knowledge of AWS data ecosystem:
* S3
* Redshift
* Glue
* Lambda
* Serverless & warehouse infrastructures
* Experience with Airflow for orchestration and scheduling.
* Proficiency in ETL/ELT design, dbt, and SQL for complex, large‑scale data processing.
* Understanding of Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and data lakehouse principles.
* Strong experience with data governance, lineage, metadata management, cataloging, and quality frameworks.
* Knowledge of compliance and regulatory data handling standards (where applicable: financial, defence, telecom, insurance sectors).
* Familiarity with cloud migration strategies, data platform modernization, and performance optimization.
* Ability to evaluate, select, and govern use of architectural tools, standards, and best practices.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive architectural standards.
* Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
* Experience operating in Agile, DevOps, or cloud‑native delivery environments.
