Job Title: Science Technician
Location: Carlton, Nottinghamshire
Pay Rate: £115 to £150 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Carlton. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the smooth running of the science department and contribute to students’ learning experiences.
About the Role
As a Science Technician, you will support the science faculty by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to facilitate practical lessons and help inspire the next generation of scientists.
Key Responsibilities of Science Technician
* Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations.
* Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure all tools and chemicals are stored safely and correctly.
* Support teachers during practical lessons and assist students when needed.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and carry out risk assessments.
* Manage inventory and order supplies as required.
* Assist in the development of teaching resources and displays.
Requirements for Science Technician
* Previous experience working in a school science lab or similar environment.
* Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.
* A science-related qualification is desirable.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
