Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced HVAC&R Design Engineer to support the development of new products and enhancement of existing systems within our thermodynamics, environmental control and alternative energy ranges.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the development of innovative educational equipment used by universities and training institutions worldwide.
The role will cover support of existing products as well as designing new products to expand the product offering in multiple ranges. Working in a multi-disciplined team, product development will be a key focus to bring the latest concepts in HVAC and Refrigeration to the educational sector.
* Work closely with production teams to Continuously Improve existing products
* Engage with customer and sales partners to develop concepts
* Liaise with purchasing and suppliers to source quality components and materials
* Develop detailed electro-mechanical system designs
* Support sales and marketing with promotion on new products
* Support in creating marketing materials and product datasheets
* Design products in accordance with relevant safety and regulatory requirements
* Design, test, and validate system performance through experimental methods
* Develop experiments to demonstrate the learning outcomes of products
Overview
* Location: Long Eaton, Nottingham
* Reporting to: Engineering Manager
* Hours: 37 hours per week – 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon–Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 1pm on Friday (no lunchbreak).

Requirements
* Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles and thermodynamics
* Experience in the design of HVAC&R or thermofluid systems
* Knowledge of heat transfer and fluid flow principles
* Experience in product development or system design
* Experience in designing systems in accordance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
* Knowledge in global trends related to F-gas regulations
* Degree in Mechanical, Energy, Aerospace or Building Services Engineering or other related field
* Experience with test, training or lab-based equipment
* Instrumentation and data acquisition knowledge
* Familiarity with key standards such as Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Machinery Directive
