PSI & sister company MPP supply specialist equipment and powders for the Advanced Materials industry. PSI’s technology is sold throughout the world and offers customers research or production scale machines to process feedstock material into a range of high value-added products for the aerospace, defence, and general engineering sectors. MPP specialise in the production and development of high performance, high purity spherical metal powers.
As Technical Sales Engineer for both systems and powder, you will play an integral part in identifying new business whilst maximising the relationship with our existing customers. You will work closely with the Sales Director and sales team to develop and execute a sales strategy for the business. You will use your experience and industry knowledge to maintain an up-to-date awareness of the market and our competitors and use this information to drive the sales strategy.

* Reporting to the Sales Director, you will bring experience in selling large scale capital equipment and metal powder.
* Educated to degree/HND level in an engineering subject with a bias towards materials science.
* Conduct technical and commercial discussions with customers at all levels.
* Develop and maintain a pipeline with sufficient growth opportunities to meet income and gross margin targets.
* Develop and maintain a high level of technical competence in the features and functions of the company’s products.
* Preparation of technical proposals to a high level of technical and financial accuracy.
* Production of weekly sales platform & performance reports.
* Provide feedback on customers, competitors, opportunities, markets, pipeline, and other sales related activities at weekly sales reviews.
* Analyse, interpret and feedback to senior management team, market research on both customers and competitors to increase awareness, find gaps and support new product creation.
* Must possess strong interpersonal skills to facilitate close working relationships with customers, prospects, and PSI personnel.
* A self-motivated personality, with the drive to achieve excellence in all activities undertaken.
* The role may also include other tasks and duties that may be required as directed by the board.
* Attendance required at exhibitions & conferences along with equipment commissioning sign-offs in the UK and abroad.
The role is based at PSI’s Hailsham site but will involve occasional UK and overseas visits in support of our worldwide customer base. Due to the nature of the work this role cannot be fulfilled by working on a remote basis.
Essentials:
Full UK Driving Licence and ability to travel globally as required
Working Hours:
37.5 hour working week
Holiday entitlement:
Year 1 = 22 days / Year 2 onwards = 25 days (Plus, Bank holidays)
Salary:
£40-60k + Sales Commission + Private Health Insurance
