Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Theatre Support Worker (TSW) to assist patients through the operative process at Addenbrookes Hospital. The role supports anaesthetic and scrub practitioners and ensures the theatre remains clean and safe.
Responsibilities
* Assist patients from pre-operative to post-operative care.
* Support anaesthetic and scrub teams during surgery.
* Clean and prepare the operating theatre between cases.
* Manage stock and equipment in the theatre.
* Maintain safety and hygiene, ensuring infection‑control standards are met.
* Perform additional duties as directed by the Registered Theatre Practitioner.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should have completed the CUH Health Care Support Worker induction, including the Care Certificate and competency assessment. If you are currently a support worker, you will be recruited at Band 3; otherwise you will start at Band 2 and advance to Band 3 upon completion.
All successful applicants must pass the functional‑skills interview (Trac) with a minimum score of 50 % and, if relevant, meet the salary threshold for a certificate of sponsorship.
