We are looking for a highly motivated Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson.
You’ll be working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm) making a real positive difference to the lives of people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson.
Cygnet Bury Hudson provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.
Main duties of the job
* Encourage patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well as maintaining any pre‑existing hobbies.
* Plan and implement therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained.
* Contribute ideas, facilitate events and activities in a safe manner.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
* Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
* A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
* Awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).
