Title : Gardener Location : Audley End House, Saffron Walden, Essex, CB11 4JF Salary : From £26,671 p.a., depending on skills & experience / 22.5 hours per week / Fixed term for 12 months Job type : Fixed Term Contract Ref : 16411 Would you like to work for the charity that cares for hundreds of historic sites in every corner of England? With 14 main garden sites and dedicated garden teams, we are looking for a Gardener to join our team at Audley End House and Gardens, near Saffron Walden. This is a part-time role, working 22.5 hours per week. Audley End House and Gardens comprises a Capability Brown landscape created in 1764, an 1830s Parterre comprised of shrubs, herbaceous perennials and 2 annual bedding schemes per year; and a fully restored, Victorian Kitchen Garden. The team is made up of 13 paid staff and 65 volunteers. This is a maternity cover role in the walled Kitchen Garden. We are seeking applicants who have experience of and enthusiasm for fruit, vegetables and cut flowers. If you are passionate about growing produce, then we'd love to hear from you. You'll contribute to bringing to life the stories that our gardens tell, helping visitors of all ages make new discoveries. You will preferably be qualified to at least NVQ level 2 standard in amenity horticulture. and have previous experience of working in a high-quality horticultural establishment on a paid or voluntary basis. You will work to high standards and be effective and efficient when working on your own or as part of the wider team.
