Responsibilities
* Machine Setup: Set up and prepare CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials, tool selection, and programming machine parameters.
* Operation: Operate CNC machines to perform machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Quality Control: Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections to verify that parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
* Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes. Report and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or irregularities.
* Tool Management: Maintain an organised tool inventory, ensure tool readiness, and replace worn or damaged tools as needed.
* Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures to prevent accidents.
* Documentation: Record production data, including machine settings, measurements, and quantities produced. Complete production logs and reports as required.
* Problem-Solving: Identify and address machining issues, tool wear, or programming errors to minimise production downtime.
* Communication: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production schedules are met and communicate any production-related issues or concerns.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a CNC Operator or in a similar role.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
* Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control processes.
* Strong attention to detail and precision.
* Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
