I'm pleased to be supporting a fast-growing and innovative organisation in the search for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team in Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 2nd Line support for Microsoft 365, Windows, and desktop-related issues
* Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems (both face-to-face and remotely)
* Resolve escalated support tickets with a customer-focused approach
* Support onboarding processes, including account and device setup
* Manage and support Office 365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange)
* Maintain and update IT documentation and user guides
* Assist in infrastructure improvement and IT projects
* Troubleshoot issues with desktop, network and application performance
* Administer and manage Azure AD, Intune, Group Policy, 2FA, SharePoint and Teams
* Support Wi-Fi, VPNs, network connectivity, backups, security and storage systems
* Maintain virtualised server environments and OS deployments
* Deliver technology improvement initiatives via agreed change control processes
* Support scientific end user computing and wider IT engineering needs across the business
About You
* Minimum 3 years' experience in IT support, ideally in a 2nd Line role
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and Active Directory
* Experience with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Freshworks, Zendesk)
* Certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL)
* Networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Firewalls, routing)
* Teams Telephony integration & PSTN phone systems
* Scripting with PowerShell, Bash or Python
* Hyper-V virtualisation
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to absorb and share technical knowledge
* Clear communicator – confident working with users of varying technical ability
* Strong customer service ethos with a passion for IT security and innovation
