Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager – Luxury Retail & Hospitality – London

The Role
You’ll lead the commercial and financial delivery of multiple projects — from early-stage budgeting through completion. Collaborating with clients, designers, and contractors, you’ll ensure each project achieves the right balance of creativity, technical excellence, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead cost planning, estimating, and forecasting from feasibility through delivery.
* Manage procurement, tendering, and contractor selection.
* Administer contracts (JCT / NEC / FIDIC) including valuations, variations, and final accounts.
* Provide strategic commercial advice to clients and stakeholders.
* Oversee cost control, change management, and reporting.
* Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve best value.
* Mentor junior surveyors and support APC candidates.
* Build and maintain trusted client, consultant, and design team relationships.
About You
You combine strong commercial acumen with hands-on project understanding and thrive in fast-paced, creative environments. You’re confident managing stakeholders and commercial risk across high-profile interiors projects.
Requirements
* 6/8+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management.
* Minimum 2+ years in a consultancy or client-side role.
* Proven record delivering luxury retail, hotel, or hospitality fit-out projects (£5m–£40m).
* Expertise in cost planning, value engineering, procurement, and contract administration.
* Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC, or FIDIC contracts.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field (RICS chartership preferred).
* Experience with multi-site or international client projects desirable.
