General Overview of the position: Leading the hygiene team during the required shift and providing knowledge in relation to methods of cleaning to drive continuous improvement. Support the Operations team in relation to hygiene requirements and best practice. Management of daily tasks to ensure Food Safety and Integrity is maintained at all times in relation to hygiene and GMP. Play active part in promoting and maintaining the Food Integrity culture. Represent the Hygiene function during Customer visits and 3rd party audits where required. Main duties and responsibilities: Verification of hygiene operatives competency on shift. Ensuring the hygiene cleaning schedule is adhered to. Management of day-to-day tasks completed by hygiene operatives. Investigating and responding to hygiene related non-conformance in line with relevant procedures. Support with investigations into any out of specification food contact or environmental swab fails. Planning and management of cleaning factory equipment including but not limited to tins, racks and frames. Support Shift Managers with non-conformance investigations where required. Monitor all hygiene consumables on site and escalate appropriately for replenishment stock. Provide support to the operations team during customer visits and audits. Maintenance of hygiene traceability documentation including the presentation of hygiene traceability to Customers and 3 rd party auditors where necessary. Attending Tier 1 meetings. Investigate any hygiene related down time on the shift. Provide hands on support to the hygiene team ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Other Duties: Manage staff holiday and absence for the shift. Monitor staff competency and escalate training needs. Plan and lead on the job staff training. Manage staff performance. Attend planning meetings when required. Flexibility of working will be required to ensure operational needs are met. Decision Making: Selecting appropriate chemicals, consumables and methods of cleaning. Skills/Knowledge/Experience: We are looking for a dynamic, confident individual with hygiene experience who has worked in food manufacturing. Ability to manage and motivate a small team with great communication skills to achieve results. Youll have demonstratable planning and organisational skills coupled with good knowledge or qualification in food safety, hygiene practices and cleaning chemicals. You will be hands on and lead by example.
