Red Rose School is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people, supporting them to overcome challenges, and helping them achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
Many of our learners benefit from practical, hands-on approaches to education. We are looking for individuals who can engage young people through activities such as sport, fitness, outdoor learning, vocational opportunities, mentoring and personal development.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students with a range of social, emotional and educational needs.
The role combines classroom support with relationship-based practice, helping young people develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation and a positive attitude towards learning.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting teaching and learning activities across the curriculum
Working one-to-one and in small groups with pupils
Encouraging participation, engagement and attendance
Supporting sports, enrichment and outdoor activities
Acting as a positive role model for young people
Helping pupils develop social, emotional and life skills
Monitoring progress and celebrating achievements
Supporting pupil wellbeing and emotional regulation
Working collaboratively with teachers, families and external professionals
What We're Looking For

Residential childcare
Behaviour support
Armed forces, emergency services or community leadership roles
Essential requirements:
Minimum of 3 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, resilient and proactive attitude
A genuine commitment to supporting young people
Desirable:
Teaching Assistant qualification
Experience working with children or young people
Understanding of additional learning needs (ALN), SEMH or trauma-informed approaches
