Project Quantity Surveyor Sheffield | £50,000 - £70,000 DOE + Car Allowance + BenefitsOverview An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join an established Chartered Quantity Surveying and Project Management Consultancy as they continue to expand their Principal Contractor delivery capability.Initially, you will take a key commercial role on a flagship £20 million residential development in Sheffield comprising two new-build concrete frame apartment blocks containing 30 and 88 apartments respectively.You will work closely with the Project Manager and report into one of the Managing Quantity Surveyors, taking responsibility for the commercial delivery of the project from construction stage through to final account.With a strong pipeline of projects progressing through planning, pre-construction and tender stages across Yorkshire, this role offers long-term stability and the opportunity to develop within a growing commercial and project delivery team.The Role Working as part of the project delivery team, you will take full responsibility for the commercial management of live construction works, ensuring robust cost control, accurate reporting and strong financial performance across the project lifecycle.You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors and the wider consultancy to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, commercially and in line with agreed budgets and contractual requirements.Key Responsibilities Procurement of subcontract packages and preparation of enquiriesAnalysis of subcontractor quotations and tender returnsLetting and appointment of subcontractor packagesManaging valuations, applications for payment and client submissionsPreparing and managing variations and change controlProducing CVRs and monthly cost/value reconciliation reportsPreparing cost reports and financial forecastsMonitoring project profitability and commercial performanceManaging subcontractor accounts through to final settlementCash flow forecasting and financial reportingContract administration and commercial support to the project teamSupporting the successful delivery of projects from site commencement through to final accountAbout You To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a proven background in a Main Contractor or Principal Contractor environment.You will have strong experience delivering commercial management of live construction projects, with the ability to take ownership of cost control, reporting and subcontractor management.Experience within residential new-build construction, particularly concrete frame developments, is highly desirable. Candidates with experience in similar sectors such as student accommodation, build-to-rent or hotel developments will also be considered.You will be confident working within a delivery team environment, collaborating closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure successful project outcomes.Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor or Principal Contractor environmentStrong commercial management experience on live construction projectsExperience with procurement, valuations, variations and final accountsStrong understanding of CVRs, cost reporting and forecastingExperience within residential or similar multi-storey concrete frame projects desirableStrong communication and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple subcontract packages simultaneouslyProactive and commercially driven approachDegree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline, OR HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying with 10+ years relevant industry experienceWhat's On Offer £50,000 - £70,000 DOECar Allowance25 Days Annual Leave plus Bank HolidaysLong-term opportunity within a growing delivery teamStrong pipeline of future projects across YorkshireOpportunity to work closely with experienced Project Management and Commercial teamsStable consultancy environment with progression opportunities into senior commercial rolesTPBN1_UKTJ
