Mechanical Design Engineer – Water / Energy Projects (Southampton) We’re currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing in-house design team based in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, professional and multi-disciplined team delivering detailed design solutions across energy and water projects in the UK and overseas. Due to new project awards and a strong forward order book, we’re looking for someone with experience designing within the water and/or energy sectors. The Role Reporting into the Mechanical Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of mechanical design packages across a range of treatment and infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include: * Working within a multi-disciplined engineering team producing design deliverables for water, wastewater and biosolids treatment plants * Supporting all stages of mechanical design including site surveys, optioneering, feasibility, detailed design and tender pricing * Producing procurement specifications for mechanical equipment * Completing hydraulic calculations and producing detailed construction design drawings * Managing third-party design outputs and providing design support to installation and commissioning teams * Liaising with clients, subcontractors and external design resources to ensure co...
