The Best Connection Ltd is an employment business recruiting on behalf of our client.
Our client is the leading Kitchen Furniture manufacturer based in Howden, East Yorkshire, and have given us the opportunity to recruit for both CE Day and Night drivers to undergo assessment and induction to cover volume increase work through to mid-November.
Day work will be curtain side trailer multi drop work to distribute flat packed, palleted kitchen furniture products to their trade outlets in our region. There may also be backloads to return with. Start times may vary from 04.00 to 09.00 or so.
Night work will be curtain side trailer on trunk runs to various RDC's. Return runs are often loaded with raw materials.
High levels of skill and professionalism are required in this role particularly in securing the load on the trailer with straps, coupling to the unit and adhering strictly to the tachograph and WTD rules. Truck performance is monitored by Microlise real time analysis and drivers are expected to drive in accordance with Microlise best practice.
PAY RATES :
Monday to Friday is paid at £ 19.23 per hour.
Weekend work is paid at £ 24.06 per hour.
Night shift allowance £ 15.10 per shift
Night out allowance £ 31.65 per night
All breaks are paid and you are guaranteed a minimum 8 hours paid per shift.
An induction is required prior to starting work and is run over 2 days for day drivers and 1 night for night drivers.
Ongoing, full time work is available following successful completion of the assessment and induction process.
Applicants must be well experienced and competent drivers in the use of articulated class 1 vehicles and curtain sider trailer equipment and must have held their CE entitlement for at least 1 year with active driving throughout that period. Very good strapping skills are required for this role.
Our client operates a zero tolerance KPI on tachograph and WTD infringements and also uses Microlise for driver & vehicle management which candidates are asked to take on board as part of their routine driver supervision.
No more than 6 minor points will be accepted and no DR, DG or DD endorsements will be allowed.
