Pay: £ DOE/ PAY vs Umbrella
Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday (30 min dinner)
Contract: Long-Term, Full-Time
Prospero teaching are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH primary setting in Manchester (Trafford). This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with severe behavioural needs, ADHD, and SEMH challenges.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils both in-class and on a one-to-one basis, providing tailored support and interventions. The successful Teaching Assistant will also assist in small groups and larger class settings, helping maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities:
1. Support pupils with SEMH, ADHD, and behavioural needs as a Teaching Assistant
2. Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions
3. Work alongside teachers to support learning and classroom management
4. Support practical, creative, and sensory activities as a Teaching Assistant
5. Assist with behaviour management and maintain consistency across the school day
6. Provide care and guidance for pupils with complex needs
7. Adapt and implement strategies as directed by teachers
8. Maintain safeguarding standards as a Teaching Assistant
9. Contribute to planning and feedback sessions
10. Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals
Teaching Assistant – Requirements:
11. Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in SEMH, SEND, or behaviour-focused settings
12. Recent Team Teach or equivalent training within the last 2 years
13. Confidence working with pupils with complex behavioural and emotional needs
14. Ability to deliver one-to-one, two-to-one, and group support
15. Calm, patient, resilient, and adaptable
16. Strong communication and teamwork skills
17. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
