About OR3D
OR3D is the UK distributor for RX Solutions' industrial X-ray computed tomography (CT) systems. We support customers from first conversation through installation, training and ongoing service, backed by our dedicated CT Centre and a highly experienced applications/technical team.
The opportunity
This is the initial stage of building a dedicated sales team for our industrial CT business. You'll own the full sales cycle for high-value CT systems—typically £250k+—and help shape our sales strategy and the foundations of a scalable sales function. Deal timelines are often long and consultative, involving technical evaluation and multiple stakeholders, but can also be significantly shorter for structured opportunities such as tenders with defined requirements and deadlines. If successful, we anticipate this role progressing into a sales leadership position as we scale.
You'll be supported by an experienced applications and technical team, enabling credible discovery, demos, trials, specification development, and responsive post-sales support.
Role overview
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the sales of high value industrial X-ray CT equipment from initial lead through order completion to post-sales support. You'll develop new business, nurture existing opportunities, and work closely with both the OEM and the OR3D technical team to deliver best-fit solutions for industrial and academic applications.
There will also be the opportunity to sell complementary CT software solutions (Dragonfly 3D World and Volume Graphics) and in-situ experimentation cells.
Territory: UK & Ireland
Travel: Required across the territory (customer meetings, demos, exhibitions and seminars)
Key responsibilities
Own end-to-end sales of high value CT systems (typically £250k+) from initial lead, through technical evaluation and order completion, into post-sales support.
Generate pipeline: self-start lead generation (outbound and inbound follow-up) as well as structured lead nurturing and account development.
Run consultative discovery: develop enquiries by identifying customer goals, constraints and success criteria, and articulating the merits and fit of CT applications.
Translate needs into solutions: partner closely with our experienced technical team to present and explain CT capabilities across a wide range of industrial and academic use cases—supporting demos, trials and technical evaluations.
Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and documented to produce detailed, accurate specifications, quotations and proposals.
Navigate buying cycles across industry and academia, including experience with tender opportunities and associated document preparation.
Operate effectively in a distributorship model with a close working relationship with the OEM on both commercial and technical matters.
Manage and maintain CRM discipline: keep opportunity data accurate, current and aligned to stages, next steps and close plans.
Formulate sales strategy and implement it: target sectors, account plans, pipeline rhythm, forecasting and reporting.
Represent OR3D at exhibitions, seminars and industry events, spearheading our marketing presence and converting event activity into qualified opportunities.
