About the Role
In this senior leadership position, you'll:
* Work closely with Divisional Nurse Directors and Corporate senior leaders, including the Deputy Chief Nurse and Chief Nursing Officer.
* Lead and coordinate non-medical safer staffing across all clinical divisions.
* Drive improvements in roster efficiency, recruitment, and retention strategies.
* Provide expert advice on non-medical safer staffing and workforce planning, influencing decisions at Board level.
* Collaborate with Workforce Deployment and Business Intelligence teams to ensure the right staff, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time.
* Represent the organisation at regional and national forums.

Responsibilities and Duties
The Non-Medical Safe Staffing Lead will play a crucial role in supporting clinical divisions to maximise non-medical staffing provision across the organisation. This involves leading and coordinating non-medical skill mix establishment reviews, refining these processes in line with national guidance, and adopting new methodologies for determining staffing requirements.
In addition, they will generate ideas and implement work streams to increase staff roster efficiency and improve recruitment and retention of non-medical staff.
The postholder will provide senior professional advice and guidance on all aspects of the Safe Staffing agenda to the Deputy Chief Nurse, Chief Nursing Officer and Executive Leadership Team, working closely with the Deputy Chief Nurse, Divisional Nurse Directors, and Senior Leadership teams.
As the lead for non-medical safe staffing, the postholder will collaborate with the Workforce Deployment team to ensure the right staff, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time.
Responsibilities also include generating Bi-Annual Trust Safe Staffing reports for the Board of Directors, and managing the collection, use, and interpretation of data related to safe staffing across inpatient and community services. The postholder will provide professional and visible senior leadership across the trust, ensuring consistent implementation of safe staffing practices across the Directorates.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Professional Clinical Registration (NMC, HCPC)
* Experience of electronic rostering systems and digital technologies to support safer staffing
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, deliver to timescales, communicate, manage expectations, and report progress
* Substantial digital literacy with proficiency in word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software
* Ability to obtain and evaluate information to aid decision making
* Ability to critically appraise data and business plans to determine impact and consequences
* Specialist knowledge in safe staffing solutions and rostering
* Ability to work to agreed deadlines
