Join our client as a Legal Services Manager, supporting the CEO with high-stakes contract negotiations and taking full ownership of the contracting process.
Key facts
* Salary range of ca £40,000-£45,000 p.a.
* Home-based, with occasional travel to Manchester/London offices and external meetings (all travel costs reimbursed)
The role
You will support the CEO with contract negotiations, manage the end-to-end contracting process with study centres and universities (UK and international), and provide legal support to internal colleagues. Engagement with universities and study centres to foster partnerships will be key. You may attend international in-person meetings and receive mentoring on broader commercial aspects.
Responsibilities include:
* Understanding the contract lifecycle from initiation to invoicing and cessation
* Providing legal guidance on commercial contracts within a growth environment
* Supporting dispute resolution
* Ensuring consistency across the contract lifecycle
* Monitoring contract expiry and facilitating renewals
* Managing exit arrangements and day-to-day administration of partner contracts
The ideal candidate
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience in legal support for commercial contract reviews
* Risk identification and management
* Proofreading large and complex contracts
* Negotiating contract terms
* Tracking and renewing contracts
* Experience in higher education environment
* Prior CLM experience, preferably in an administrative role
* Ability to interpret legal contracts and explain terms to non-legal colleagues
Skills & Knowledge:
* Intermediate MS Excel skills or better
* Clear and concise communication
