Supporting student midwives in clinical learning, ensuring safe, effective, and reflective practice.
Main duties of the job
1. To support and develop the pre-registration midwifery students whilst on clinical placements within King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust across all sites, reflecting the NMC standards
2. Promote high standards of care through role modelling the demonstration of clinical expertise, leadership and professionalism
3. To demonstrate clinical expertise and act as an effective role model for best practice midwifery for pre-registration midwifery students
4. To work along-side the Midwifery Practice Facilitator, assisting in the delivery of effective programmes and the facilitation of high quality placement learning
5. Facilitate a positive learning environment in the classroom, simulation and clinical areas where student development is encouraged and supported and talent is fostered and enhanced
6. To support both students and practice supervisors and assessors within the clinical environment
7. To provide pastoral support, guidance and training to all stakeholders on all aspects of pre-registration midwifery
8. To provide support to students who have been identified as requiring further development in order to achieve the required standard for their stage of training.
