Role: Environmental Advisor

Your new role
To facilitate support to and integration within the business management teams, the Environment Advisor has a primary responsibility to focus on environmental risks across group operations. Due to Group Environmental Manager being on mat leave, advisor will report to Senior Advisor for technical support and assistance with planning of works, with SHE Director carrying out the people management. Advisor will also will interface with all parts of the business. The Group Environmental Department will liaise with business heads to ensure there is a common understanding about priorities and initiatives across the Robertson Group as a whole, the individual businesses and the SHE environmental support needed to deliver these.
DUTIES:
1. Conduct site governance inspections and audits in line with agreed programmes.
2. Produce written reports in relation to governance inspections, audits and investigations in accordance with agreed procedures and protocols;
3. Provide support and advice to project teams, business units and to other business functions (. Sustainability and Quality) on environmental risks including regulatory matters.
4. Deliver in-house environmental training courses;
5. Contribute to reviewing and improving the environmental management system;
6. Attend and participate at SHE Department meetings;
7. Attend and participate at Robertson Group business units’ SHE meetings, as required;
8. Liaise with other SHE professionals within the business to further SHE performance.
9. Any other relevant duties your line manager may from time to time require you to undertake.
10. Assist in writing Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans;
11. Assist in writing Environmental Management Plans;
12. Assist in writing Method Statements, Risk Assessments or any other SHE related documents associated with the management of SHE on a project or contract.
