Location: TamworthHours: Dayshift, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday or 4 day weekPay: £45000-£48000 per annum

The Role
Optima is recruiting a skilled CNC EDM Wire Programmer Operator to join a precision manufacturing client in Tamworth. The successful candidate will operate high-specification EDM wire equipment to manufacture gears, gear shafts, and precision components to exacting standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Programming and operating CNC EDM Wire machines
* Working from detailed engineering drawings, process sheets, and tooling instructions
* Producing precision components to tight tolerances
* Entering production and job data into the ERP system
* Operating multiple machines as required
* Working with a variety of materials
* Applying strong knowledge of EDM principles, tooling, and material characteristics
* Maintaining quality, accuracy, and safe working practices
About You
* Minimum of 3 years' trade training or equivalent experience, plus 2-4 years' relevant machining experience
* Extensive knowledge of CNC EDM Wire machining
* Strong understanding of EDM principles, tooling, materials, and machine shop practices
* Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Comfortable working in a multi-machine environment
* Good communication skills
* Self-motivated with a driven and proactive attitude
