Your new companyAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join a specialist Lloyds of London broker as a Finance Assistant, based in their City of London office. Youll be part of a dynamic and fast-growing team that manages a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of bookkeeping or accounting within financial services, who is ready to take the next step in their career. Your new role. They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to manage the end-to-end financial transactions. The ideal candidate will handle the day-to-day financial operations related to underwriting, claims management, premium collections from agents, payments to insurance companies and commission payments to producers.

* Assist with the management and processing of month-end financial reporting.
* Organise timely BACS premium payments and issue payment bordereaux
* Reconcile multi-currency bank accounts
* Process accurate and timely claims payments
* Track and follow up on overdue premiums, ensuring compliance with payment terms.
* Send cancellation notices for overdue premiums
* Assist with the preparation of monthly performance reports for the Managing Director
* Assist with the reconciliation of monthly income: premiums received, payments made, and commissions paid
* Collaborate with the wider yacht team to resolve finance-related issues
* Maintain relationships with insurers, agents, and brokers, resolving queries promptly
* Provide general finance team support as needed


What youll need to succeed

* Have at least 2 years experience working in an accountancy/finance role, ideally with knowledge/experience of insurance processes (e.g. premium collections and claims management)
* Experience with multi-currency payments
* Studying towards accounting qualification
