Peaple Talent have partnered with a market-leading client in Birmingham who are looking to recruit a Senior Land Referencer.

Our clients Infrastructure division continues to expand, so they are seeking a driven and proactive Senior Land Referencer to join their team in Birmingham.

You’ll join a dynamic and growing land referencing team known for delivering high-quality results. Our client believes leadership is about meeting challenges with confidence and ensuring every team member’s voice is valued.

They’re looking for an experienced land referencing professional who’s eager to grow within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities:

* Use ArcGIS to geo-reference and digitise spatial features from CAD files and paper plans.
* Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders to provide project updates and address key issues.
* Carry out both desktop-based and direct referencing of individuals or organisations impacted by infrastructure schemes.
* Oversee junior staff time recording and assist project managers with monthly invoicing and reporting.
* Collect, manage, and interpret land-related data, ensuring accuracy and relevance for project needs.
* Support project delivery by managing client expectations, understanding programme timelines, and assigning tasks to junior team members.
* Enter and maintain data in internal land information systems, keeping records up to date and well organised.
* Communicate effectively and empathetically with members of the public, as well as with clients and stakeholders.
* Review and update mapping layers to reflect the latest verified information.
* Undertake site visits to deliver notices and engage with landowners or affected parties.
* Prepare and quality-check legally required documentation, including order plans, books of reference, notices and schedules.

Key Experience Required:

* Ideally, you will hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geography, Planning or a related field, though industry experience will also be considered.
* Proven experience in producing land referencing documentation, such as books of reference, order plans, notices, and schedules, is essential.
* A Valid UK Driving licence is required, along with a willingness to travel to both rural and urban project sites as needed.
* Proficiency in GIS software, preferably ArcGIS, is crucial, particularly in collecting, analysing, and applying land ownership data.
* Experience in managing or mentoring junior team members is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with projects involving compulsory purchase processes, such as those under the Transport and Works Act, Compulsory Purchase Act, or Planning Act is advantageous.
