Electrical and Mechanical Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Electrical and Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team in Peterborough. This is a permanent, full-time position offering the opportunity to lead diverse engineering projects from initial concept through to final delivery. The role is hands-on and requires a strong technical foundation in both electrical and mechanical systems, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
Working Hours
This role is 45 hours per week, and the client is flexible on start and finish times, allowing for a degree of autonomy in managing your schedule.
What You'll Be Doing
Project Delivery: Manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct routine inspections and resolve faults across a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work complies with UK and international standards, including IET Wiring Regulations and BS standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across production, quality control, and R&D to support project success.
Technical Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate records, including technical reports and maintenance logs.What We're Looking For
Qualifications: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience: Proven track record in a dual-skilled engineering role, with hands-on experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
Technical Proficiency:
In-depth knowledge of electrical power systems, control systems, and electronics.
Strong grasp of mechanical principles such as thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and stress analysis.
Familiarity with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and three-phase systems.
Personal Attributes:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
