We are looking for a Transport Front Line (Shift) Manager with proven management experience within the FMCG sector, preferably within the Food sector. You will be responsible for leading and managing the drivers and transport office staff to ensure the safe delivery and/or collection of all goods to/from our customers and in accordance with all legal and company requirements. The role is predominately on days but does require some elements of night work, when required, as it is a 24/7 operation.Key Accountabilities • To set clear goals, targets and expectations of performance for all Drivers and Transport Coordinators on your shifts to ensure all relevant KPIs are met. • To ensure all drivers receive a daily debrief and the Transport Management Team are updated daily on performance. • To ensure all shift members are aware of and comply with environmental, health and safety, legal and company standards and that all shifts operate in compliance with the team. • To ensure optimal labour utilisation, by making best use of the Company Scheduling Systems and labour flexibility. • To recruit, train and develop Drivers and Coordinators who reflect the Company's values and who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and qualifications to perform effectively. • To execute continuous improvement action plans (e.g. PDP initiatives, productivity improvements etc), to ensure that targets are achieved. • To ensure that any service issues arising are addressed promptly and where appropriate, escalated as required.The Right Person • Ability to build good working relationships with employees, customers and suppliers. • Good leadership skills with a confident, open and honest style of communicating. • A strong customer focus, always willing to go the extra mile to deliver a good service. • An analytical thinker, capable of making effective decisions in a fast paced environment. • Self motivated with passion, enthusiasm, tenacity and resilience. • Lead by example with the "Safety First" message.
