Ad Hoc Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Accrington
Hours: Flexible, ad hoc (school hours – typically 8:30am to 3:30pm)
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
We are looking for flexible, reliable and resilient individuals to join a Secondary Alternative Provision in Accrington as Behaviour Support Workers on an ad hoc basis. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for casual or part-time work with the chance to make a meaningful impact.
About the Provision:
Alternative Provisions support young people who are unable to thrive in mainstream school settings. Many students have social, emotional or mental health needs and may present with challenging behaviour. The provision offers a tailored, supportive environment where relationships and consistency are key.
The Role:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
* Respond to behaviour incidents calmly and professionally
* Support students in lessons, during transitions and social times
* Work closely with staff to de-escalate situations and maintain a safe environment
* Build trust and rapport with students over time
Who We’re Looking For:
This role will suit someone who is:
* Calm, consistent and confident when faced with challenging behaviour
* Flexible and available for ad hoc work (often at short notice)
* Experienced in youth work, mentoring, support work, education or similar settings
* Passionate about making a difference to young people who need a second chance
