Endoscopy Staff Nurse
The closing date is 01 July 2025
We are delighted to share the opportunity of a vacancy for a full-time band 5 staff nurse to join the endoscopy team at Darlington Memorial Hospital. We welcome both experienced and newly qualified staff nurses.
Within endoscopy, no two days are the same. We are looking to recruit highly motivated, dynamic, forward-thinking nurses who will help to provide a safe, high-quality service to patients trust-wide.
The endoscopy service provides a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for both inpatients and outpatients within our two procedure rooms.
Main duties of the job
We provide a detailed and supported training programme to ensure all competencies are achieved and assessed via knowledge and practice. When you join the endoscopy team, a mentor will be allocated to support you through all areas of the training programme. Responsibilities include admitting patients, consenting them for procedures, supporting sedated and unsedated patients through recovery, and providing detailed post-test information. The nurse also supports the endoscopist during procedures, including taking biopsies and assisting with therapeutic interventions.
There are numerous career progression avenues within the service, including becoming a nurse endoscopist, senior nurse, or specialist nurse within multidisciplinary teams. If you want to work in a friendly, supportive environment, are willing to learn, and are a good team player, feel free to contact us for more information.
