Our research and development client specialises in electric motors, controllers, and inverters for various applications. They are looking to recruit two Senior Electronics Engineers
Production (AC/DC) and also (DC/DC) to join their Electronics Engineering team.
h3>Job Description
Purpose
The Senior Electronic Engineer is an integral member of the project team responsible for delivering development projects of varying size and complexity. The Senior Electronics Engineer is responsible for the power electronics hardware design on multiple projects and will be responsible for the control, sensing, communications, and thermal requirements of the design under the direction of the Lead electronics engineer taking designs into production.
The role reports to the Lead Electronics Engineer.
Duties
1. Working closely with the Engineering team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Assisting the lead electronics engineer with project timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
2. Liaising with firmware team to ensure adherence to coding standards and alignment of resources to deliver project requirements.
3. Designing AC/DC converters, including low voltage battery charging, from concept to production following company processes.
4. Leading manufacturing processes for AC/DC designs, including FMEA, DFM/DFA, and verification and validation plans.
5. Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical innovations.
6. Supporting test engineers in testing, developing, and verifying designs against specifications, and preparing high-standard test plans and reports.
7. Contributing to continuous improvement of the standard design process.

Qualifications
* Degree in engineering or relevant experience.
* Chartered status or equivalent preferred.
Experience
* Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.
* Knowledge of full-bridge, push-pull, forward isolated converters, LLC, PFC, and input filtering.
* Experience with various battery chemistries.
* Simulation experience (Simulink, Matlab, LTSpice, etc.).
* Proficiency with Altium or similar CAD software.
* Understanding of thermal management, EMC compliance, and product development processes.
* Hands-on experience with AC/DC topologies, 3-phase systems, bidirectional systems, and magnetics design.
* Control loop theory and system simulation skills.
