The Role:
1to1 Group are working in partnership with a homeless charity that supports adults and young people. We are helping to recruit Support Workers to support the individuals staying within the hostels.
Responsibilities:
* Provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing homelessness, including advice on housing, employment, and welfare benefits.
* Help clients develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and self-care, to promote independence.
* Provide crisis intervention and safeguarding
* Support clients with budgeting, managing finances, and addressing debt or benefit issues.
* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
* Conduct regular case reviews with the clients to ensure they are invested and working on gaining their independence.
* Facilitate access to education, training, and employment opportunities for long-term stability.
Requirements:
* Experience working with vulnerable individuals
* Understanding of safeguarding
* Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service is desirable
* Driving license would be desirable
* Knowledge of housing and welfare legislation
* Crisis management
* Problem-solving skills
