The Department of Clinical & Biomedical Sciences (CBS) alongside Devon Partnership Trust, is seeking to recruit a Clinical Consultant Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Biological Psychiatry (level of appointment dependent on experience).
The role
This is a strategically important position for the Department and Medical School as we seek to expand capacity in translational mental health and neuroscience, strengthen clinical links with local NHS trusts across the South-West peninsula and build on our international reputation in mental health, neuroscience and genomics research.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for psychiatrists working in the area of severe mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia, psychosis, major depression, child and adolescent mental health) who can work alongside our world-leading scientists working in basic neuroscience, cell biology, neurogenomics and data science.
The successful applicant will work closely with the NIHR-funded Exeter Biomedical Research Centre to build our capacity in translational psychiatry.
As a key strategic appointment, we will offer a competitive package supported by a start-up fund, to ensure that the successful applicant can create a transformative translational clinical research programme at the University of Exeter. It is expected that the successful candidate will undertake clinical session(s) with Devon Partnership Trust.
