Annual salary of £58,000 plus £6,500 car allowance (FTE). Permanent role. Full‑time (37 hours). St Helens office based – Travel round Merseyside.
As Contracts Manager you are responsible for managing and delivering a Retrofit programme of works across the Northwest, reporting to the Head of Operations. Your focus is on delivering excellent operational performance to drive quality and safety across all projects. Overseeing multiple contracts simultaneously, you’ll lead Project and Site teams through effective 1‑2‑1s, act as the main point of contact for clients and subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
In this role you will manage budgets, conduct monthly financial reviews, oversee programmes of work, Health & Safety documentation, and material planning, while working closely with Planning, Compliance and Commercial teams to minimise downtime and stay ahead of variations. You will represent the business at client meetings, proactively manage escalations, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Strong understanding of the retrofit industry and the processes involved in installing insulation, heating and renewable technologies in domestic properties.
* Proven technical expertise in delivering insulation and retrofit services, with a strong commercial focus.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to use own initiative and make informed decisions in the absence of the Head of Operations.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience at management level.
* Demonstrated experience managing similar contracts or contract managers with a turnover exceeding £2M.
* Solid understanding of compliance requirements and process management within the retrofit sector.
