Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Bristol and South Wales
Work Pattern: 12 month contract + Possible extension
About the Role:
Working for a leading energy infrastructure provider, this role involves supporting major electricity transmission projects across the UK. The position focuses on the design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage substations and associated transmission assets, ensuring the delivery of critical upgrades and new installations within a collaborative framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all commercial aspects of multiple projects from inception to final account.
* Expertly manage and administer NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts (ECC), including Early Warnings,
* Compensation Events, and payment applications.
* Implement robust cost control measures, produce accurate CVRs, and provide detailed financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
* Proactively identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
* Manage the procurement and commercial administration of subcontractors, ensuring compliance and performance.
* Meticulously manage all contract variations and compensation events, negotiating and agreeing on fair and reasonable costs.
* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and internal project teams.
* Potentially mentor and guide junior members of the commercial team.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of the Electricity Transmission industry
* Previous experience in Quantity Surveying with a relevant qualification
* Contract costing knowledge
* Contract law NEC 3 & 4, Option A, C & E
* Subcontract Management & cost / value reconciliation
* Excellent negotiating interpersonal & communication skills
* Analytical skills & financial awareness
* Full Clean UK Driving license - travel to sites & regional offices required
