What you'll be doing:
* Management & integration of multi-disciplined engineering teams; leadership of engineering resources, delivery of packages of work/services, involving new products and/or complex upgrades, utilising new and existing technologies, requiring multiple interfaces with customers/suppliers or partners
* Delivery of projects to meet customer and contractual obligations for cost, quality, timeliness and specification, resolution of engineering conflicts between disciplines, systems and capabilities
* Integration and solution development to meet a coherent and prioritised set of demands, tailor and apply engineering processes, tools and approaches to develop innovative and creative solutions to contracts and specifications
* Accountable for the Functional and Systems Leads Designer/Signatories within Submarine Control Systems
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* CEng status or equivalent experience
* Extensive understanding of engineering disciplines and lifecycle
* Fully versed in MBSE methodologies, best practices and tools
* Significant experience designing safety critical products
* Experience in design and integration of products in a highly regulated industry
* Vehicle control systems knowledge
Desirable:
* Submarine's function engineering knowledge

The Submarine Controls Systems Integration team:
In the role of manager and lead engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Functional Architecture lead to deliver systems engineering, subject matter expertise, and ensure design coherence across all top-level functions and supporting systems within the AVC (Advanced Vehicle Control) programme. This involves interfacing with associated mechanical colleagues and embedded transversal resources essential to the programme's success.
Additionally, you will take the helm in leading an overall integration and verification strategy across a major system of systems. This entails orchestrating the seamless integration and verification of various components and subsystems to ensure the successful operation of the overarching system. Your leadership and technical prowess will be instrumental in driving the AVC programme forward and achieving its objectives.
