We work on the full data lifecycle with highly skilled and experienced data professionals. Our solutions range from data strategy and governance through the development, design and implementation of advanced analytics and digitisation. We are seeking a motivated candidate, at Manager level, who is an experienced and skilled Cloud Data Architect to join our team. As a Cloud Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising data solutions in the cloud. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the cloud-based data infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud data architecture, data modelling, data governance, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. What You Can Expect: Participate in supporting sales opportunities with existing and new clients through solutioning Manage a range of routine responsibilities on multiple client engagements which may include client project management, delivery activities or solutioning. Effectively manage client relationships with senior personnel Contribute to employee development by actively mentoring employees, creating development opportunities, and initiating and conducting training for the team Demonstrate the ability to discuss technical and industry trends in specific projects/ industries Demonstrates the ability to deliver specific product solutions to clients Demonstrates expertise in specific technical areas and/or industries Participate in recruiting efforts to support Protiviti business objectives Enhances Protiviti’s market presence and exposure in order to develop opportunities with new clients Design and implement cloud data architectures to meet business requirements and best practices, including data lakes, data warehouses, DataOps, MLOps and analytics platforms for your clients. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions. Architect scalable, high-performance data pipelines using cloud-native technologies and services. Develop and enforce data governance and security best practices for cloud data environments, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and protection. Define and implement data integration strategies, ensuring seamless data flow between systems and third-party applications. Assisting with leading the migration of on-premises data systems to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance. Work closely with DevOps teams to design CI/CD pipelines for deploying data solutions. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior architects, data engineers, and developers . Perform capacity planning, cost optimisation, and performance tuning for cloud data infrastructure. Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and make recommendations on improvements or adoption. Do Your Talents Include the Following? Proven expertise in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. In-depth knowledge of cloud-native data services (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, AWS Redshift). Strong understanding of data modelling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and ETL/ELT processes. Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, Talend, Informatica) and APIs. Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and real-time streaming architectures. Expertise in cloud security, data governance, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Knowledge of AI/ML data workflows and experience with data science platforms desirable. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes advantageous. Proven business development skills Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills Demonstrated mentoring and people development skills Must be able to handle highly confidential information in a strictly professional manner Must be able to maintain professional demeanour in times of high stress Your Educational and Professional Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred). 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with a focus on cloud-based solutions. The ratio of remote to in-person requirements varies by client, project, team, and other business factors. It can sometimes mean more of a full-time presence at our client. Our people work both in-person in local Protiviti offices and on client sites, which can include local, or UK wide travel based on our projects and client requests and commitments. Remuneration and Benefits Starting salaries are competitive and are based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the salary range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location. Employees are eligible for medical and dental insurance cover, life assurance, pension scheme and receive up to 25 days holiday per calendar year.
