About The Role:
We are looking for a Catering Supervisor to oversee the delivered services for the function.You will be expected to effectively supervise the departmental team and support the departmental manager in their duties to ensure contractual, statutory and QMS compliance for the facilities management services and to ensure that the services are delivered within budgetary requirements and profitability improved year on year.
Please note this is a term time only role working Monday to Friday 7am 2.30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure excellent food and food service is provided to all customers
Deputise for the Catering Manager as required
Lead and develop teams with a focus on food hygiene training
Ensure team performance is evaluated and addressed through constructive feedback
Ensure accurate completion of time sheets and their delivery within defined deadlines
Manage stock levels, placing orders to meet demand and reduce waste
Submit stock check reports to the Finance Department
Monitor catering budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources
Oversee HACCP monitoring and ensure food hygiene requirements are applied rigorously
In-depth understanding of food hygiene and ensure its requirements are stringently applied
Understanding of dietary and nutritional requirements of patients and to ensure that these are reflected in their food preparation
Develop menus in collaboration with the Catering Manager to ensure variety and appeal
Ensure client and service user orders are collected within the required deadlines and that food service accurately reflects these
Responsible for vending machines and sales where applicable
Ensure that excellent standards of cleanliness and food hygiene are applied throughout
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, food storage areas, and equipment
Ensure all resources, within your responsibility, are managed cost effectively in line with budget
Regular liaison with other facilities teams and departments, site occupiers and service users
Report any issues immediately that may affect the service user and service of the site
About You:
Previous experience in a similar catering supervisory role is essential, with a deep understanding of food hygiene practices
Level 2 catering qualification (Professional Cookery NVQ Diploma - Level 2 or Hospitality and Catering - Level 2 (City & Guilds)
Familiar with service level agreements and ability to deliver against same
Experience of working to a set menu and within a defined cost-per-head structure
Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Analytical thinker, able to address problems and issues with a timely and systematic approach
Ability to lead and manage people toward achieving desired goals
Ability to build and maintain effective networks both internally and externally
Knowledge of commercial kitchen management and processes and procedures
Proactive and passionate about food and making a difference
Resilient and adaptable and able to work autonomously and well under pressure
Possess strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage and resolve conflicting priorities and stakeholder concerns
