This is a marvellous role for someone who considers security by design from the start, this is important as you will be working on Government, MOD, Met Police and Ministry of Justice projects. You will be joining a friendly multi‑functional team of professionals (testers, developers, lead engineers, project managers, product owner) who create cloud‑based Secure Geospatial Software in an AGILE scrum environment.

Responsibilities

* Collaborative practices like pairing, swarming and mobbing
* Translate business goals and high‑level requirements into robust software architectures, balancing performance, security, reliability, and compliance
* Design scalable, flexible, secure and maintainable architectures for complex geospatial systems
* Collaborate with development teams to select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and patterns
* Produce clear, structured documentation covering architecture decisions and design rationale
* Establish and maintain architectural traceability from business requirements through to solution design
* Contribute to and support technical and architectural reviews

Qualifications

* Strong experience designing and architecting cloud‑native solutions using Kubernetes (K8s), with a focus on microservices and asynchronous, event‑driven architectures
* Strong experience designing and owning software architectures for complex systems, preferably in a cloud environment with an awareness of DevSecOps
* Builds positive working relationships and contributes to a respectful, collaborative team environment
* Comfortable providing and receiving feedback within a team environment whilst also owning software architecture for complex systems
* Experience working in environments with security, cybersecurity, reliability, and compliance constraints

Accommodation & Flexibility

Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part‑time. You can discuss the flexibility needed during your interview and we’ll do our best to accommodate. We can also make adjustments for the selection process – you can share this with your Talent Acquisition Partner if you are invited to interview.
