Parts and Stores Operative / Trade Counter Assistant – Inveruire Would suit someone with previous garage or workshop experience We’re looking for a practical, customer-focused individual to join our busy team in a dual role that combines parts control with trade counter support. This is a great opportunity for someone with garage or workshop experience who’s also confident providing great service to customers. What You’ll Be Doing Parts and Stores Duties: Support colleagues with day-to-day parts provisioning advice Maintain a secure and organised stock system, including hazardous materials Ensure stock accuracy through regular checks and put-away processes Work with your manager to resolve stock or pick fail issues Provide support to workshop staff with parts requirements Advise the Workshop Manager on stock control issues Assist with audits, performance reports, and exception reporting Manage purchasing, receipt, storage, issue, and despatch of parts Follow departmental SOPs to ensure safe and consistent standards Trade Counter And Showroom Duties Provide excellent service and a friendly, welcoming environment for all customers Communicate clearly and effectively with customers in person and on the phone Resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely, professional way Support other trade counters when needed Help maintain showroom security and stock displays Arrange pre-delivery inspections (PDI) for sold equipment where needed Operate the electronic point of sale (EPOS) system Replenish shelves, maintain daily pick-lists, and uphold high shopkeeping standards What We’re Looking For Experience in a garage, workshop, or mechanical environment is highly desirable A proactive team player with strong attention to detail Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills Organised, reliable, and ready to pitch in wherever needed If you enjoy a role that’s hands-on, varied, and customer-facing—and you take pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes—we’d love to hear from you.
