SEND Local Offer Lead

Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole

Hours: 26 hours per week, 0.70 FTE

Contract: Permanent


About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled SEND Local Offer Lead to take responsibility for the development, delivery and ongoing management of the SEND Local Offer at BCP Council.

This role provides specialist leadership for the Local Offer, ensuring families, children and young people with SEND can easily access clear, accurate and meaningful information about services, support and provision across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

You will play a key role in coproduction, working closely with parent carers, young people, professionals and partners to ensure the Local Offer reflects lived experience, remains up to date, and supports improved outcomes.


What you’ll be doing

Leading the day-to-day management and development of the SEND Local Offer website, ensuring content is accurate, accessible and responsive to local and statutory changes.

Coordinating and leading coproduction, consultation and engagement activity, including reviews, surveys, peer feedback and “You Said, We Did” updates.

Acting as a point of contact for enquiries, providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.

Working with a wide range of partners, including education, health, social care and voluntary sector organisations, to ensure high-quality information and effective signposting.

Monitoring and reporting on the performance and impact of the Local Offer, including website usage data, feedback and improvement actions.

Identifying and implementing process and service improvements, contributing to policy development and ensuring compliance with statutory SEND duties.

Representing the Local Offer at local and regional SEND forums, sharing good practice and supporting continuous improvement.


What we’re looking for

* Experience of supporting families of children and young people with SEND or equivalent relevant SEND experience.
* Experience of engaging and influencing stakeholders to drive positive change.
* The ability to coordinate complex information into clear, accessible formats (e.g. websites, workflows, frameworks or guidance).
* Experience of working with a range of agencies, for example, local authorities, health or social care.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review data, identify issues and propose solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive or complex enquiries professionally.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and statutory timescales.
* IT skills, including confidence using Word, Excel and digital systems.
* A diploma-level qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
