Overview
Caretaker / Janitor role at Amey. Location: Northampton Schools Account, St Lukes Primary School, St Crispin Drive, Duston, Upton, Northampton NN5 4UL. Salary £13.08 per hour. Hours: 25 hours per week, 2:00pm – 7:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Join our vibrant, inclusive community in Northampton Schools, delivering critical services for schools to maintain safe, clean and compliant learning environments. Amey manages facilities for 42 Northampton schools, providing 24/7 services with minimal disruption.
Responsibilities
* Ensure smooth running of the school premises
* Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
* Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are functioning properly
* Daily check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
* Guard premises against vandalism
* Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear away afterwards
* Litter picking and general clearing of external areas
Qualifications and Skills
* Knowledge and experience in practical DIY skills for minor repairs
* Good team player
* Flexible with shift work
* Ability to develop strong working relationships with on-site clients and employees
* Support for local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate
* Responsible for ensuring Health & Safety standards are achieved across the contract
