Electrical Technician

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a dynamic maintenance team. This role is critical in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical services across a diverse estate. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnostics, repairs, and minor installation works on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations, ensuring timely and safe resolution.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance tasks, including:
o Periodic Inspection & Testing
o Emergency Lighting Testing
o Fire Alarm Testing
o Portable Appliance Testing
* Diagnose faults and determine appropriate solutions, escalating where necessary.
* Assist with installation and refurbishment projects, including minor power systems.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and service documentation.
* Liaise with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to minimize disruption and deliver excellent customer service.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical building services (commercial, industrial, domestic).
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Maintenance.
* City & Guilds qualifications including:
o 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
o Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations
* Strong understanding of statutory compliance and Health & Safety.
* Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet SLAs.
* Full, clean UK or EU driving license.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of fire alarm systems (BS 5839).
* Experience with LV/HV systems.
* Awareness of confined space entry and asbestos safety.
* Understanding of mechanical building systems.
