We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Lower Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive school community in South Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development and who thrives in a collaborative primary school environment. Role Overview As a Teaching Assistant in LKS2 (Years 3 and 4), you will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning across the curriculum. You will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. The role involves working with whole classes, small groups, and on a 1:1 basis, supporting pupils with a range of learning needs. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National CurriculumWork with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning, support interventions, and encourage progressProvide 1:1 support for pupils who may require additional help, including those with SEND, EAL, or social and emotional needsAssist in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all children feel valued and supportedObserve and monitor pupils' progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to assessment where appropriateSupport classroom organisation, including preparing resources and maintaining an orderly learning spaceEncourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop independence, confidence, and resilienceSupervise pupils during non-classroom times such as breaktimes, lunchtimes, and school trips when required Person Specification The successful candidate will: Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within LKS2Demonstrate a warm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with childrenHave strong communication and interpersonal skillsBe able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when requiredShow a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided)Be flexible, reliable, and committed to supporting children's learning and wellbeing What We Offer A welcoming and supportive school environmentOpportunities for professional development and trainingThe chance to make a real difference in children's livesSupportive leadership and a strong team ethos This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and is looking to develop their experience within a primary school setting.
