About the Roles
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting SEN Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Support Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools throughout Portsmouth and Hampshire.
These roles support children and young people with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex needs.
Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants:
£13.75 per hour
Qualified Teachers:
Paid to scale
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
Assist with learning activities and emotional regulation
Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
Support behaviour management strategies
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and school staff
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
Who We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH (education, care, youth work, or support settings)
QTS required for teaching roles
Teaching Assistant or support experience desirable (training can be provided)
Calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
