About the Role
Prospero Teaching is pleased to be working with a welcoming secondary school in Rotherham to recruit a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama. This is a part-time opportunity, working Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of the academic year.
The role offers a varied timetable, with a particular focus on delivering engaging Drama lessons while also supporting the wider school through general cover where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Drama lessons that inspire and engage students
* Teach across Key Stages (primarily KS3/KS4 depending on timetable)
* Provide general classroom cover on Wednesdays, alongside two scheduled Drama lessons
* Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
* Mark and assess work where required
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Has experience teaching Drama at secondary level
* Is confident delivering both specialist Drama lessons and general cover lessons
* Demonstrates strong classroom management and adaptability
* Has a passion for the performing arts and student development
* Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one)
