About the Role:
You’ll work within the prison delivering courses to groups of participants to support them on their journey towards release. They are designed to be short, sharp and impactful so your ability to quickly build positive connections will be an important part of the role. You will work with Support Workers and Peer Mentors to deliver a comprehensive support package for their last 12 weeks of custody. As a key member of this dedicated team, you’ll help individuals overcome barriers, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward rehabilitation. This is a demanding yet deeply rewarding role with individuals who have complex needs and may be hesitant to engage. When you help someone break the cycle and take real steps toward transforming their life, the impact is truly life‑changing—for them and for you.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Group Facilitation – You will be delivering sessions to groups of participants on a variety of topics such as goal setting, social interaction and positive decision making.
* Relationship Building – Foster genuine, trusting, and non‑judgemental relationships with participants, creating a safe space for personal growth.
* 1‑on‑1 Support – You will also be working one‑on‑one with participants setting and reviewing goals while ensuring accurate and timely recording.
* Caseload Management – You’ll manage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while keeping up with all the related admin.
* Quality Recording – Keep thorough, up‑to‑date records of all your work on our IT system, ensuring progress is properly tracked.
What We Are Looking For:
* Training/Facilitation Experience – Ability and confidence to deliver engaging sessions.
* Communication Skills – Ability to engage, motivate, persuade, and listen—building strong connections with those you support.
* Safeguarding Awareness – Should be able to identify any safeguarding risks while working with complex individuals. You will be fully supported following any challenging interventions.
* IT and Administrative Skills – Keeping meticulous records of every interaction to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.
Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced DBS check and HMPPS EL1 vetting. Due to the time required to complete these checks, successful candidates will be offered a start date at least six weeks from the point of job offer.
