Hub Manager EMHIP Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub | Community Empowerment Network (CEN) Salary: £40,000-£43,000 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Location: London, Wandsworth Area Contract: Permanent Reports to: Director, CEN About Us The Community Empowerment Network (CEN) is a community-led organisation working to address ethnic inequalities in mental health and wellbeing. Our flagship programme, the Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Programme (EMHIP), works in partnership with South West London and St George's NHS Trust, voluntary and community organisations, local authorities and people with lived experience to improve access to culturally responsive mental health support. The EMHIP Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub is a key part of this work, providing a community-based focal point for support, engagement, signposting, advocacy and collaborative working. We are now looking for a passionate and experienced Hub Manager to lead this vital service. The Role This is a senior leadership role at the heart of our community mental health work. As Hub Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operational delivery of the EMHIP Hub, leading a dedicated team and working in close partnership with NHS, local authority and voluntary sector partners. You will play a central role in improving mental health outcomes for ethnically diverse communities in South West London, championing a culturally responsive, person-centred approach to care and support. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Hub team, providing clear direction, supervision and development support Oversee the delivery of all Hub services to a high standard, ensuring person-centred, culturally responsive care Build and maintain effective partnerships with NHS services, primary care, local authorities, faith groups and community organisations Take lead responsibility for HR matters within the Hub including recruitment, performance management and absence Manage a delegated budget and ensure resources are used effectively Lead on risk management, complaints, incident investigation and reporting Ensure robust record-keeping, information governance and compliance with all relevant policies Champion community and service user involvement in the Hub's work Contribute to performance reporting, KPIs and continuous service improvement Promote and embed the Hub and Spoke model across all service delivery What We Are Looking For Essential: Experience of working in a multicultural setting with diverse client groups At least 3 years’ professional experience working in mental health services, for example within psychology, psychotherapy, counselling, psychiatry, mental health nursing, or community mental health settings. Understanding or experience of African-Caribbean and African community lived experience in the UK Experience of system change, community development or an NHS role Strong people skills including the ability to build trust, resolve conflict and motivate a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure Resilient, self-aware and self-motivated Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required Desirable: A relevant degree or professional qualification in mental health or a related field (e.g. psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, community development). General management experience Lived experience of mental health challenges Experience of mentoring, coaching or training in a community context Experience working across health, social care or community agencies Strong digital and IT skills including Excel, Word and online communication tools Why Join Us This is a rare opportunity to lead meaningful, community-driven work that makes a real difference to some of the most underserved communities in London.
