Overview
As a Catering Assistant, your main duties involve the preparation and maintenance of dining and service areas. This includes tasks such as setting up furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment, as well as ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. You will be responsible for serving food in correct portions and washing dishes, cutlery, and other catering equipment. Daily cleaning of all catering areas is essential and you may also be required to undergo additional training which we will provide.
Responsibilities
* Set up furniture, trolleys and maintain dining/service areas
* Prepare and maintain cleaning equipment and adhere to health and safety standards
* Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery and other catering equipment
* Daily cleaning of all catering areas
* Cash collection and banking
* Maintaining records and procedures
* Undertaking key holding responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service and communicate regularly with customers, managers and colleagues
Qualifications
* Previous catering experience in a similar environment is desirable but not essential
* Basic Food Hygiene and basic Health and Safety certificates are desirable but training will be provided
* Adequate numeracy, literacy and communication skills
* Strong customer service mindset; ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Adaptability, attention to detail, and willingness to take on different tasks
* Hardworking and confident demeanor with excellent organizational skills and time management
