The Space business in Chelmsford creates high-performance sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high-energy physics applications.
An experienced Engineer is required to join our highly successful manufacturing team, focusing on the development of high-precision silicon assembly and providing onward support to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Development of new probe capabilities for testing CCD / CMOS wafers
* Collaboration with Production Engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) is optimized
* Assistance in developing and writing procedures for prototyping new products
* Continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the production and manufacturing teams
* Generation of SAP ME routings from manufacturing flow diagrams
* Creation of SAP Bills of Materials (BOMs) and master data, working with design, engineering, and procurement teams
* Verification of all documentation through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
* Management and optimization of operational flow (information and production flow)
* Support for production trials and completion of relevant documentation
* Adherence to existing New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
Requirements:
* HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience
* Experience in production/manufacturing
* Experience in developing manufacturing processes
* Experience in project manufacturing environments
* Excellent problem-solving skills with documented results
* Ability to work effectively in a team
* Self-motivation
* Attention to detail
Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 + excellent benefits
Location: Chelmsford, Essex (On-site role)
